Shaggy's song It Wasn't Me says a lot about men and their cheating ways. At the same time, studies have shown that men and women ascribe different definitions to the word 'cheating'. For instance, men usually think that sex has to be involved for it to fit the classification. Women, on the other hand, might think that if a man even shares certain information about himself to another female, he is a cheater. Whatever the interpretation, partners are experiencing problems with each other and many are seeking therapy and counseling to stem the crisis. There must be an underlying reason why of late, the issue is wreaking such havoc. Even if it existed in the past but was swept under the carpet, the fact that it surfaces now with renewed vigor is worthy of investigatory instigation. Here's to a way of examining the picture.
There is a power struggle in the secular arena and men have lost or have been losing their grip on being the main breadwinner in the home. That used to be a status they enjoyed to feel lion tall in their own surroundings. Now the boys are left to stand and take notes as girls are fording their way in the uppermost echelons of society. Something has to give and the guys are currently giving their wives a raw deal to salvage their superiority. Women are emotional beings and who knows that any better than the guys? So the idea is to hit the ones who are more vulnerable where it hurts.
